Our online booking system allows you to secure your booking, pick the vehicle you desire, pay a deposit and be guaranteed full satisfaction. If your booking is made 7 days in advance, we will guarantee a car for you. That way, you will spend less time worrying about finding an available car, and have more time to think of what activities to do during your stay in this beautiful country!

The owners and operators of Gateway 2 NZ Rental Cars have worked in tourism for the last 15 years. Previously owning and operating a very successful rental car business for 9 years. Starting out as a motor mechanic, Rex has in-depth knowledge of motor vehicles, with the concern that all of our vehicles are of the highest mechanical standards, hence less worry for you!! Ellen comes from The Netherlands and has worked in customer service for many years, in The Netherlands as well as New Zealand, ensuring that our customers’ needs are met, wherever they might be from!
On top of all that, we believe in a personal approach and take pride in what we do! We do not have a "9 to 5" mentality and strive to make you feel at home after your long or short travels at any time night or day.
